Tacoma Is For Lovers aims to "promote the visibility of local artists and encourages reuse, intentionality, sustainability and high craft." That, and they also do a bunch of lovin'. Starting this month and on Thursday, Feb. 11, the organization will hold a monthly craft night, where an invited artist will introduce a new - well - craft. This month Miranda Pollitz will introduce needle felting at King's Books, starting at 7 p.m. The class costs $15, including materials.
PREDICTION: The Weekly Volcano will be asked to leave and not come back after proudly unveiling our needle felt rendition of Greg Oden playing with his cell phone.
[King's Books, 7 p.m., $15 for supplies, 218 St. Helens Ave., Tacoma, 253.272-8801]
