Morso goes Italian

The Gig Harbor wine bar to host an Italian night

By Volcano Staff on September 6, 2013

Ignoring the atypical first part of this month, getting dressed up for dinner in September generally means pulling on a shirt or finding the dress flips-flops. South Sound summers stretch well into September, which is indeed relaxing, perhaps too relaxing. In fact, if the warm weather stretched into January, we'd all be barefoot year-round with unkempt hair and a closet full of muscle shirts. And if you don't believe us, just look at the population of Arizona. Personally, the Weekly Volcano enjoys getting dressed up for dinner, even in the summer, which is why we live in the South Sound and not Scottsdale. Tuesday, for example, Morso converts into an Italian bistro. The Gig Harbor wine bar pulls out a special Italian menu that includes traditional favorites such as cannelloni, seafood linguine, pasta puttanesca and chicken rigatoni. No Italian dinner is complete without a glass of wine, which will be discounted to $5 while they last. Run a little pomade through your coif, and head out to enjoy a sampling of Italian dishes with a view of the harbor.

MORSO, 4-10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 9014 Peacock Hill Ave., Gig Harbor, 253.530.3463
