Army restructuring Wounded Warrior Program

In response to the decreased deployments and impending downsizing, the Army will begin restructuring its warrior transition units. Warrior transition units are located at major military treatment facilities and provide support to wounded, ill and injured soldiers who require at least six months of rehabilitative care and complex medical management.

Cinematic magic

Think back to the first time you ever went to the movies. Remember what it was like standing, (or being carried), in line, squinting at the squares of light bulbs illuminating the brightly-colored one-sheets in the lobby, listening to the atonal melody of pinball machines and arcade games playing in

Saturday, Jan. 18: Whelp

Is Whelp really a band? Yes and no. It's not exactly what is the extent of Whelp's existence outside of the Internet and the imagination, but Saturday's show at the Northern would be a good time to find out. What is known about Whelp is that they have created an

Said in the growliest voice ever: "METALTOPIA 2014 IS ABOUT TO MELT YOUR FACE OFF." Yes, it's true boys and girls, five of the northwest's most badass metal bands are converging in one place - the magical Track House, where bands play, beers flow and miracles happen. Black metal, doom

Saturday, Jan. 18: The Outlaws: A Waylon Jennings Tribute

Bobble Tiki's hula girl alarm clock woke him up last Thursday with the sound of Waylon Jennings singing "I'm a Ramblin' Man."  No matter how foul Bobble Tiki's mood, that song has always made Bobble Tiki feel good - cocky, strong, self-assured.  When it comes ripping out of a jukebox,

Through Feb. 2: "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf?"

Producing this show is like saddling a dragon. I caught struggles for lines, most adroitly concealed. The blocking isn't great for performance in the round. There are patrons who won't know what to make of all its profanity, carnality and perma-drunk savagery. What unnerves most, though,

Theater Review: "Who's Afraid" of a three-act war?

There are roles we actors take on to prove, to ourselves and others, we can bear them. We dash ourselves against the windmills of Hamlet and Lear, Ophelia and Lady Macbeth. We speak of epic, three-hour monsters like Angels in America or August: Osage County with daunted respect. Some scripts,
